OVERBROOK was built in 1984 and comprises 2 buildings approached from either Barton Crescent or pedestrian bridge from the grounds of Brook House. There are 4 units for single people and 12 for couples (or single people as need demands). There is also a Laundry Room, Guest Room and large parking area. See our Photo Gallery
The flats have been designed for people who are able to live independently. There is no warden but there is close contact with the Management Committee and staff. There is a designated member of staff for Overbrook to ensure that there is good communication. Tenants of Overbrook can book lunch at Brook House if they wish. A minimal charge is made for this. The current cost can be obtained from the Secretary.
Residents are granted either starter tenancies or secure tenancies depending on circumstances. A starter tenancy will lead to a secure tenancy after 12 months if applicable. The rent is payable each calendar month. Rent reviews are carried out annually and implemented from 1st April.
What Is Included?
Tenants are responsible for the payment of their utilities including Council Tax, Electricity and Gas. Water Rates are paid to Red Devon Housing at the same time as the rent. Included in the rent is the maintenance of the buildings (the tenant is responsible for decorating the interior), landlords fixtures and fittings and grounds. Tenants should obtain contents insurance for their own possessions.

If a resident is entitled to Housing Benefit arranges can be made to have this paid directly into their bank account or directly to Red Devon Housing in which case the amount received would be deducted from the monthly rental.
